Is MentorLab free?
Yes, completely free for both mentees and mentors. No hidden fees, no credit card required.
How much time do I need to commit as a mentee?
Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes. You can book as many or as few as you like. Most mentees have 1-2 sessions per week.
What happens to my personal data? (POPIA)
We collect only what is needed (name, email, interests). Your data is never sold. Full details are in our Privacy Notice.
Can I use MentorLab on my phone?
Yes. The platform works in any modern browser on mobile, tablet, or desktop.
How are mentors verified?
Every mentor is manually approved by the Tech Horizons admin team. We check their LinkedIn, company, or portfolio before they can appear to mentees.
What if a mentor does not show up?
You can report a no-show to admin. We track attendance, and repeated no-shows may result in removal from the platform.
Do I need to install anything for video calls?
No. The video call runs inside your browser using Jitsi. Just click Join Call and allow camera and microphone permissions.
Can I change my interest areas after signing up?
Yes. Go to your profile settings and update your domains (e.g., from Cybersecurity to Web Dev). The mentor list updates automatically.
What if I am not a student but a young innovator?
You can still register. If you do not have a university email, upload a brief motivation or any proof of enrollment. Admin will review it.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings then Delete Account. Or email admin@kznth.co.za and we will remove your data within 7 days.
